In the Middle of Nowhere

It’s another day with the cock crowing

Laying in bed dying slowly of confusion

Uncertain I won the previous day’s battle.

Afraid to let to those who look up to me down and not wanting to break

the heart of the little ones who think I am a hero.

With many expectations to fulfill but none to fulfill myself.

Having no expectations at all I say but holding unto hope and faith that I will discover myself as I help others discover themselves.

I walk with my head up high, beaming all with smiles with no one aware of the demons I fought the previous night.

I am stranded and lost in the path of unknown.

Walking but to a place whose destination is unknown.

Lost in the middle of nowhere, have no idea of which path I should take.

With a wide smile, I walk briskly with no assurance how things will turn.

I am lost and stranded in the path of unknown

With dusk setting in, I lay quietly in bed set for another battle

Having no weapons to fight with except hope and faith.
